Trying for 2 types of rendering which I fail utterly at this point. But trying to get better at it.

One is Sonic battling it out against good 'ol Dr. Eggman.

Another is another gal. (Sorry Paul, you'll just have to cope :P)

No real works going on these days due to crazy schooling. I'm getting schooled, that's for sure!

Inspired by one of my favorite games on the hand held game; Advance Wars, I decided to draw my own story of colorful Commanding Officers duking it out.

Thought of a fictional WWI-esqe era where 2 factions battle each other until they realized they both been had by an Evil Organization!

It's been done to death but I just wanted my take.

Commencing Game Design

Hey there ya'll.

As some of you know, I have started a new course (And possible future career) of Game Design.

The course is much more intense than I have anticipated. Seems like the majority of the term has classes that end till 9:30PM!

So here's just a warning that this place might not have the uploading as they use to have. (Not that it was really busy back then.. But yeah..)

I'll do my best to upload whatever I happen to draw, doodle and stuff.

Thanks to everyone for their constant support and visiting! I'll definitely get back on track once the course is finished!

Having said, I'm loving the direction they're going with this game. I dig the music, and the character designs work within the context of the story.

I'm also glad that they got the animated series voices actors for the game. :D

I was sick, lazy, busy, etc to post anything.. That's right.. I had NOTHING new.. So I came to my last resort and dug up some vault material.

Many people knew about it. But it's was never posted properly online. So here it is and all it's glory. My first dance animation attempt.

Used Wondergirls' 'Tell me'. It was such a sensational hit back at the time.. Too bad I missed the timing.. I would've gotten sweet user hits if I finished it in time :P

FanART - Disney Pocahontas

Whew.. Finally I got some time around to finish off this one.

What can I say about Pocahontas? Well I guess I can say that she used to be my least favorite heroine cause I thought she looked ugly.. Seeing the film again.. Man!! She's pretty!!

What was I thinking?

So.. Works been busy.. Kinda hectic.. But here I am actually managing to finish off another Disney Princess.. (Why is Pocahontas a 'Princess' anyways? I suppose if she's the chieftain's daughter... Hmmm..)

I have to say the 'Disney craze system' has been wearing down, so I'm not as Disney obsessed as I used to be hehe..

I AM though back where I started.. Wanting to make things happen and not patient enough..

I recently got into a manga named 'Bakuman' drawn by the same artist who drew Death Note (Takeshi Obata).

I have to say the guy is a monster! Such skill and style! The story is about making manga.. And the team does a really good job explaining the process without sounding boring.. And add some drama into that.. I love it!

So I have to say I've actually been tempted to do my own attempt of my stories.. We'll see... We'll seeeeeeee....

Too many promises and no results.. I'm almost there becoming a politician! :P

FanART - Disney Belle

The most peculiar mademoiselle, a beautiful but funny girl with her nose stuck in a book.

Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

She was kinda tricky due to having so many different variations of her in the film.

So in the end, I stuck with my own mish-mash of the Belle drawings I saw for reference.

At first I thought of drawing her in the yellow gown, but then I couldn't really define her as much as I thought I could.

In the end I cheaped out and used a book as a prop.

And suddenly there you have Belle! Voila!

[EDIT] Here's an updated version of Belle for who care :) It's subtle, but I think it worked for the better.

FanART - Disney Jasmine

My Disney craze seems to still linger within my system :P

This time I tried Jasmine from Aladdin.

She's got spunk yet is still graceful. I guess you can't hide royalty.

If I ever get to make a Disney Trading Card Game, all the Princesses should have the ability saying:

"[Royalty] Character is priority target of spells and abilities "

[EDIT] Changed Jasmine's right hand and added gradients. I think it looks much better now :)

So I watched some old Classics like Cinderella and Snow White.

When I was younger, I tend to skip the Heroine singing parts.

Now I love them so much.. Some times it makes me wanna cry..

Well.. ONLY sometimes :P

Anyways.. I don't know if I got Snow White's look down.. She's a tricky one.

I thought it'd be cute to have my no.1 favorite character Lemo to dress up as famous (or personal favorite) characters I think that are cool as well.

Well that's why you'd cosplay them right? Because you think that character is cool. And Lemo agrees with my tastes so he thinks it's cool to dress up as them.

The last member of Team. 12.

She's the loud-mouth, energetic, misfit of the group. Always concerned of her outlooks she takes care of her hair, even though she knows it's gonna get messy after a match.

She also causes a bit of disturbance due to not following the school regulation such as not wearing her tie and battle stockings (which actually provides) protection. She refuses to wear them because (according to her) it's out of style.

She also made Team. 12's unofficial name : 'Micelina'. (Which is pretty much a mish-mash of the member's name) The other two does not approve.

Mia is not an esper. She is one of the majority of the students in the 'Fighter' category. She practices martial arts including some secret traditions that has been passed down to her.

Her hobbies include finding archaic video games and playing them.

She likes to mimic the video game moves and combine them with her existing style to throw her opponents off.

A slight update of Celia.

The Water Esper!

I think her of the peace-keeper of Team. 12. She can be off track with her teammates sometimes due to her anxious thinking, which drifts into a daydream of series of crazy 'what if..' scenarios.

Usually when the school assign students to a team, the council tries to divide them so that the various skill levels are not one-sided to either team. Although having 2 elemental espers (which are rare) in one team seems unfair, there was a reason. Celia is afraid to fight. Her combat skill is at the low-tie and the potential powers are unstable.

When she becomes panicked and feels a sense of threat to her life, she unleashes devastating powers that usually severely hurts not only the person who tries to hurt her, but also any people around her. Feeling a responsibility that she must refine her powers, and the institute seeing the possibilities, Celia has been placed in the same team with the no.1 rookie of the 1st year: Lina.

Lina, being the younger sister of one of the strongest espers Lucy, and Celia having unknown potentials that has endless possibilities.. Team 12 is watched by the whole school with interest. (Given that elemental espers are rare to begin with)

The last member whose name is 'Mia', I shall post her when I get her done. Hopefully soon..

For those who thought I forgot about Project XAVIA , well I haven't really..

Just trying more styles so I can finally settle down with one that I like :P

This is Lucy's younger sister Lina. Opposed to her fiery hotheaded sister, Lina is cool, reserved but also quite insecure.. Seeing a pattern? Yup.. My story is no exception to Anime cliches . Although I'm planning to throw in my own take there so don't be TOO disappointed.

Lina is in the same team as Celia , Team no. 12 . Lina, Celia and another character I haven't posted yet will be the main characters of the story. They are in their first year (Lucy would be a senior in her 3rd year), and are roommates for rest of their school days. So I'm trying to create some fun situations with the 3. (Kinda like Battle Athletes OVA, I love that series! :D)

Actually they were my inspiration to start this whole story in the first place. Fond memories of my teenage years. Perhaps this whole project is a homage to my teen years :P

Most Underrated Movie and Game of 2008

Since most people talk about best and worst of 2008, I thought I'd share some underrated ones so hopefully people might share the same feelings as I did.

Maybe they aren't your cup of tea, but who cares? These are my personal choices for movie and game that was severely underrated in my opinion.

Most underrated movie of 2008? Has to be this one:

I absolutely LOVED this movie from start to finish. One of those 'feel good' movies when you walk out. No it's not Dark Knight, but it was never meant to be.

People hated it for the colors.. I loved it because of it. It's out for rental, go give it a shot.
Though I think it would've definitely been better to watch it in the big screen :P

And the most underrated game of 2008?

(for 360/PS3)

No other game got so much hate than this one. Maybe it's the expectation? I don't know what the people were expecting. People complain it wasn't 100% Sonic. Well TECHNICALLY you played Sonic from start to finish.. And I don't know when was the last time I did that! Even the Dreamcast versions made you play all these other dudes. The night stages weren't great, but far from abysmal. It was solid enough to get through, and the speedy day stages were so great that I think it's the best 3D Sonic game out there.

It's definitely in the right direction, and CERTAINLY does not deserves a lower score than the dread Sonic the Hedgehog '06.

People who complain about how Sonic should stay 2D is just being unrealistic. And people who complain that they should bring the Dreamcast goodness back is out of their minds. I dare say this is an improvement in ALL aspects to the Dreamcast versions. Now I can't go back.

I think as a game designing standpoint, Sonic is a very hard game to achieve in 3D. And I think Sonic Team deserves a kudos for gearing it to the right direction. Com'on people, Sonic CANNOT stay 2D forever, it has to be done one way or another. And I'm just glad that Sega hasn't given up yet.. (But then again, how could they?)

Okay. So that was my take. You guys (and gals) can agree or disagree with me, but hey.. Don't get to worked up about it.. This is my take. I wanna know what YOU think?
